This afternoon Hari told me that his blog page rank has gone down from 3 to 0. So i checked out some of the reliable sites to check PR. It showed my blog’s PR as 0 and vinod’s domain was 0 as well, Google updated PR only a couple of weeks ago, so my instincts told me that some thing was fishy, when i tried to check the PR of Google home page, it showed 0 as well
Then found out that its some problem with the PR checkers and remembered one such problem some months back, where my blog’s PR was showing 8
It turned normal only now in the evening.

I checked my PR some time back it was obviously 0 only
Thanks for adding my novel link two times in your blogroll
Gowtham on 14 May 2008 at 2:36 pm #
Oops !! thanks for telling! will change it. Should have become confused since i added it all the 3 blogs
Karthik on 14 May 2008 at 6:50 pm #
People should stop being overtly concerned about PR. It doesn’t really matter much.
Rachel on 14 May 2008 at 7:20 pm #
Karthik, i guess people who expects their blog to be paid then PR do matters for them. But am not very sure about that
Marc on 14 May 2008 at 10:37 pm #
PR does matter if you are going to use it for paid reviews on blogs.
Gowtham, google.com PR showed zero since there was some problem with the site you were checking with!
Gowtham on 15 May 2008 at 1:11 am #
@ Karthik, Yes, it does matter. I am writing paid reviews you see.
@Marc, Not only with that site many sites showed wrong PR, and for your blog also some sites showed PR 4 and another showed 3. Most of these sites had prob, prchecker.info, domainpagerank.com, smartpagerank.com and pr.blogflum.com.
Marc on 15 May 2008 at 10:17 pm #
And Hari’s PR is still 0 because…
meyya on 16 May 2008 at 3:31 am #
mine is always 0
in some sites its N/A ..
Karthik on 16 May 2008 at 8:55 am #
Yea, I agree with people who say PR matters for people who write paid posts. But it’s in no way an indication of how good a site is or how good the content is. Take me for instance.
Maybe I should start writing paid content too.
Also, I have observed that few PR checker’s show different PR from others. I guess it’s because it wasn’t Google’s PR. In any case, if you want to be sure about your PR, check your google toolbar. (which you can uninstall later)
Gowtham on 16 May 2008 at 9:27 am #
@ Kartik, Yeah Google tool bar is the only reliable way to check PR, But it shows wrong PR too, some times.
@Marc, No Idea
@Meyya, Some site show N/A as 0. So your PR should N/A
Rachel on 16 May 2008 at 2:00 pm #
@Karthik
Plzz don’t write paid reviews. Okay if you write it somehow try to hide it
vinod on 17 May 2008 at 3:48 pm #
@ Karthik
Well lets see whether you end up writing paid reviews or not
Hari on 18 May 2008 at 5:29 pm #
rankchecker.com never shows a palse PR. It also identifies if the PR is fake.
Validrank.com you can check PR live in 64 data centers.
Also you can find lot other information about your site like backlinks, viewback, etc.
Hari on 18 May 2008 at 5:29 pm #
*False PR and not Palse PR. Gautham please update it.
