I am writing this step by step tutorial to install Warcraft III completely+Dota.
For installing Dota you will have to install the complete game, i.e., Reign of chaos + Frozen Throne.
- Install the Reign of Chaos 1st from the disc 1. Use this key “F3ECV5-5786-2VE0BI-8A89-8D27A1″
- The second is to install Frozen Throne, install this from the second disc. The key for this is “728Y2W-B292-X7PCXZ-PPDX-PKCN72″
- Now that you have installed FT, you have to patch it. Get the commonly used patch in India to play in Garena
War3TFT_120e_English.exe (48 mb file) - Once you have downloaded the patch, run it by just double clicking it, it should patch by itself.
- Now you should Crack the game. Copy the contents of the crack folder and paste it in the game folder(the place where you install the game) and replace the game files(choose “yes to all”)
- Finally the Dota map should be installed. Download the DOTA map here.
- Now open map folder contained in the game folder. Check whether there is a folder named “Downloads” in it, if not create one. Open the “Downloads” folder and paste the Dota map inside it.
- There you go! You have successfully installed Warcraft III completely + Dota.
Note: Now there will be 2 icons in your desktop, one is the Reign of chaos icon and another one is the Frozen Throne icon. If you are a newbie to Warcraft, start playing campaign in the Reign of chaos so that you will learn the controls.
If you want to play Dota. Run Frozen throne and join the LAN game, Dota is meant for playing Online, but if you want to play the game with Bots and practice you need a Dota AI map. Copy paste the map inside the Downloads folder in the map folder.
Dota with Bots:Now Run Frozen Throne and choose single player custom game browse and choose the Dota AI map,add Bots and start the game.
Warning:Make sure that you have Patched the game before craking it. pasting the crack before patching won’t work.

I had this post here only initially. When i started the game blog, i deleted the post and copy pasted it there. But this post comes in Google searches for many searches aboutWarcraft installation, That is nearly 10-15 people visit this post through Google only to see 404. So i have restore it.

i already install all of these but i cant open the warcraft or frozen throne game!!it always says the “please make sure your frozen throne or warcraft3 disc is in your CD-ROM drive, then click on ‘Retry’” what am i going to do?? please help me!!

@sTrAnGeR, This is a usual problem which arises when you have not cracked your game properly. That is, if you had not pasted the contents of the crack folder in to the game folder where you have installed the game. This error will arise.
Make sure you cracked the game..
Note: Make sure that you have Patched the game before craking it. pasting the crack before patching won’t work.

i can’t open it even i paste the crack.,.it says that “the ordinal 744 could not be located in the dynamic link library War3.exe.”
“could not open the game.dll.”
i dont knowwhat to do!! i want to play dota..,hehe

@sTrAnGeR. This is a patch and crack conflict
Assuming you have a W3TFT CD that is pirated. You install it, and paste the crack. Of course it will work. But, for example you download manual patches from Blizzard’s website and install them. What will happen next is that, if you try to open the game, the game looks for the “correct” CD and displays the “insert game cd” error message. However, if you paste the crack from the crack folder, Ordinal 744 Error will pop out.
So, if the CD you got installs a W3:TFT v1.06, look for another crack that better suits the version of the TFT patch you have downloaded (for example, look for a v1.17 crack for patches from 1.10 to 1.17).
REINSTALL the game, completely uninstall the game and install it again, download the patch from the link i have mentioned in the post. And get the appropriate crack for it and then install the game. And this time, when you are patching, copy the contents of the patch folder and paste it in the folder where you installed the game and then double click to run it and then paste the crack.

i have installed frozen throne and reign of chaos and downloaded the maps you specified
But i cant play DOTA. when i clik on a dota map i return to the main menu
IS IT NECESSARY TO INSTALL THE 40MB PATCH
CANT I PLAY WITHOUT IT???

As if it’s its own game. You can’t install Defense of the Ancients. No one can. It’s only an ancient map that should have died off years ago, and it’s clogging the games list, preventing the world from having any real fun… in the case of those unable to host… damn it…

@ Raja, Yeah Patch is mandatory!! And here you have to reinstall, cos, if you try to patch the game now it wont work.
So do a fresh installation, patch it and then crack it
Roomi, i just wrote like that, because most of them think like its a part of the game installation, and don’t even know that its just a map. and That too not created by Blizzard
