Beware Xp Antivirus 2008 tricks you…

Posted under Tech

Yesterday i came across a wired pop up window while browsing which tell something like this “scan your computer online…..” Even before i finish reading the whole thing it started to show another window which creates a view like a anti-virus scanning process is going on and with in a minute it shows a result like some 50 threats detected. So i downloaded it and installed it,i feel ashame to have fell for it  Then suddenly my wisdom told me that i am acting very noob like  I uninstalled the application and rebooted the system but it was still there running the fake scan again. So i cleared all the registry entries of it, which helps it to contact to its server. Thus the problem was fixed

XP Antivirus 2008 is a malware usually comes up after you installed a video codec that come with Trojan, malware and virus. It generates fake and misleading system popup error messages so the poor user will be tricked into purchase XP Antivirus 2008. Another thing is that it brings your computer, all kind of malware and trojans bundled along with it, which includes zlob.trojan, trojan.vundo and Trojan.Downloader . The major problem caused by this malware is it may popup tons of ads that are difficult to close. Eventually, will lead you to throw your computer to trash

So its is very important that you remove all the component of it from your system.

Dude, but seriously, if something was to say stuff like that wouldn’t your first reaction be suspicion at something that started ’scanning’ your drive without you asking it to? Why were you so kind, show no mercy, nuke without compassion.

I never click links online. And these days even for downloading, I verify the website first. Dont wanna be phished!!

Especially with antiviruses, spyware remover…etc. Always check the website you are downloading from.

Another thing you waould want to avoid is Orkut links and Java scripts. (I heard it is possible for a virus to be spread simply through Orkut scrap books. Now, how true it is, I haven’t had the time to investigate.)

I dont use Orkut these days and it is true that virus can spread through orkut scraps, but it is not gonna stop the buggers from using it anyways

Hi am too face this type problem sometimes back

Better you install Nod 32 or some other familiar anti virus scanners, it will give full production.

It will verify all the website first and give alert message (website is dangerous, you want to enter or not) and also block all these type of pop ups
